All Royal Ryder frames and swingarms are built from 4130 cro-moly tubing. For those people who don’t know the difference between cro-moly and D.O.M tubing, here are the facts: Your aftermarket frame builders like Daytec, Rolling Thunder, Atlas, Pro-One, Chopper Guys, etc. all use D.O.M steel tubing. The average frame alone weights in at approximately 75 lbs. not including the swingarm. 1020 D.O.M steel tubing does not have the spring properties like 4130 cro-moly does. That means you will feel more vibration on a D.O.M frame then you will with a cro-moly frame. 4130 cro-moly tubing is 25% lighter and 33% stronger than 1020 D.O.M tubing. For an example a Royal Ryder frame and swingarm weighs in at 49lbs and is 33% stronger. Yes a 4130 cro-moly frame and swingarm will cost you more because it is more difficult to work with, and not mention a lot more expensive than 1020 D.O.M. Many people ask us; "How much is your rear tire offset, so you can get a 240/250 tire in your frame?" We do not have any offset at all! Our tires are centered perfectly in the center of our frames so you do not have the bike pulls to the left, and yes we use a standard size 1 ½ belt. Yes our motor does have a ¼ inch offset to the left and there is no offset on the tranny on our 220mm frame, but there is a 1-inch offset on the tranny for a 240/250 frame. A recent addition to the shop has been these two OKUMA CNC machines. Why did we do that? We wanted to have more control over the quality and availability of the parts we use to build you the best bike there is. As production steps up for the coming year we felt it would be to ours and your benefit to do more of the production in house. Just another way Royal Ryder Motorcycles ensures you the best possible product.
